2016 DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY KNOCKOUT ROUND & CHAMPIONSHIPS

KNOCKOUT ROUND: JULY 6-7, LOCATIONS TBD

CHAMPIONSHIPS: JULY 14-16, CARSON, CALIF.

Championships

The final placement games are held on July 14 & 16 at the National Training Center in Carson, Calif. All teams are guaranteed two games - a semi-final on July 14 and a placement game on July 16.

Please note all semifinal games and the U-15/16 and U-17/18 finals will be live-streamed July 14th through 16th via U.S. Soccer's YouTube channel.

Rosters

Knockout round rosters will carry over to Academy Championships rosters. A maximum of 18 players may be selected (11 starters and 7 reserves). Extra players over the 18 allotted roster slots may NOT dress for the game and may not be present in the technical areas. Only medical situations will allow for a roster change after July 10.

Team Schedule

U.S. Soccer will build a schedule to meet the needs and accommodate requests of a team based on travel.

Tentative scheduled events

  • July 13th welcoming meal for all clubs (tentatively set up for 4:00 PM)
  • Team training times on July 13 and 15
  • U.S. Soccer will do its best to accommodate July 12 training requests

2015/16 Championship Round Game Schedule

  • July 14, U-15/16 Semifinals: 1:00 pm (FC Dallas U-15/16 v Chicago Fire U-15/16); 3:30pm (LA Galaxy U-15/16 v. Real Colorado U-15/16) - Stubhub Center (Carson, CA)
  • July 14, U-17/18 Semifinals: 6:00 pm (Vancouver Whitecaps U-17/18 v PDA U-17/18); 8:30 pm (FC Dallas U-17/18 v Nomads SC U-17/18) - Stubhub Center (Carson, CA)
  • July 16, 3rd place games: 10:00 am; Academy Finals: U-15/16, 5:00pm; U-17/18, 7:30pm

Knockout Round

Matchups and host sites for the Knockout Round will be determined by the Academy Staff and Technical Staff based on a number of factors that will include (but not limited to): final seed, geography (to reduce travel and prioritize player wellness), competitive integrity, previous matchup history and scheduling logistics.
