U-16/17: Crossfire Premier 4, Oakwood SC 0

Sally Menti recorded a hat-trick, including scoring twice within a three-minute span in the first half to break open a close game to pace Crossfire Premier to a 4-0 victory over Oakwood SC in a Girls Under-16/17 game.

Crossfire, which improved to 2-0 in the showcase and 9-0-3 overall, controlled play for good stretches of the match as Maia Tabion boosted the Kirkwood, Wash. side to a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute. A shot was blocked in the penalty area by an Oakwood defender, but her clearance when directly to Tabion, who powered a close-range shot past goalkeeper Kaelen Fabry into the top corner for her fifth goal of the year.

The rest of the game turned into the Menti show, especially in the opening half. She headed in a Zoe Burns corner kick at the back post to double her team's advantage before turning a right-wing cross into another headed goal from six yards out barely three minutes later.

An open Menti closed out the scoring in the 63rd minute, slotting home yet another feed from the right flank, this time from four yards away for a 4-0 lead against the Glastonbury, Conn. squad, which remained winless in this competition (0-2) while falling to 9-4 on the year.

Crossfire goalkeepers Holland Pilukas (first half) and Grace Wells (second half) combined for the clean sheet.

U-18/19: Real So Cal 4, NEFC 0

Alyssa Thompson led the way with a hat-trick as Real So Cal scored early and late in the opening 45 minutes to put the match away.

The 14-year-old forward tallied from eight yards past NEFC goalkeeper Taylor Burgess in the 13th minute before Tori Waldeck latched onto a through ball and made a nice cutback move in the penalty area and slotted the ball home for a vital insurance goal.

She broke in alone on halftime substitute goalkeeper Faith Gargano to score from six yards out in the 81st minute. Thompson closed out the scoring with a magnificent 19-yard strike to the top right corner in the 84th minute.
