RECAP: CONCORDE FIRE REMAINS UNDEFEATED AFTER 3-0 WIN OVER LONESTAR SC

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2017) - The undefeated season continues for the Concorde Fire U-15 team, which opened its Girls' Development Academy Winter Showcase slate with a 3-0 win against Lonestar SC on Wednesday afternoon at Premier Sports Campus.

Concorde got on the board early with a fantastic left-footed goal from Ella Ciardullo, directed to the upper netting just below the crossbar from about 20 yards out. Lonestar fought hard for the remaining minutes of the first half, going into the halftime break with only a one-goal deficit.

In the second half, Concorde turned up the pressure up front, forcing Lonestar to go one-on-one defensively. In the 66th minute, Sabrina Blount took down Concorde captain Ayo Oke inside the box, giving the Atlanta side a chance to make it 2-0. Kate Leibel converted from the spot to extend Concorde's lead.

Ten minutes later, it was Blount once again who got whistled by the referee following a handball inside the penalty area. Oke converted the kick this time to add to her team's lead and record her 12th goal of the season. With the win, Concorde Fire's record improves to 8-0-2 and the team remains atop the Southeast Division.
